The German regulator allowed to start in May the construction of the North Stream-2 gas pipeline in German waters. As TASS clarifies, we are talking about a section of two kilometers long.
Earlier on Monday, May 17, the Consul General of Germany in Yekaterinburg Matias Cruz called the length of the unfinished section of the North Stream-2 gas pipeline. According to him, it remains to complete 80 kilometers. He is confident that the project will be completed, but did not predict the timing of its completion.
Initially, the gas pipeline was supposed to be commissioned in 2019. However, due to the limitations imposed by the United States, construction participants began to leave the project. The timing of its implementation was repeatedly transferred.
