Foreign Minister of Russia Oleg Syromolotov and CEO of Foreign Policy and Security and Security of Spanish Foreign Minister Fidel Sendagort agreed to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the fight against terrorism and radicalism.
Diplomats held a bilateral meeting in Madrid. It is noted that they also exchanged points of view on global challenges and key crisis issues in the field of countering terrorist organizations.
According to the Global Terrorism Index (GTI), at the end of 2020, the situation with terrorism in Western countries remains crisis. It is noted that the West is experiencing the highest mortality rate since the 1970s associated with terrorist attacks. In Western Europe, North America and Oceania, the growing number of deaths amounted to 250 percent.
