75 years ago, on May 13, 1946, the decree of the USSR government was formed by enterprises to create a rocket and space industry, including 885, the main task of which was the development of autonomous control systems (SU) for ballistic missiles. Nikolay Alekseevich Pilyugin was appointed chief designer of autonomous control systems.
In 1963, a specialized research institute of automation and instrument-making AP, where under the direction of N.A. Pilyugina is created in inertial SU for carrier rockets and spacecraft. The outstanding achievement of the NII AP was SU for the Energia-Buran Energy-Buran orbital Space. In the 80s-90s, SU was created for Zenit-2 missile systems, Zenit-3, Sea Start, Proton-M, Overclocking Blocks “Frigate”, “DM”. One of the recent projects is the Rocket Complex “Ground Start.”
In 1992, at the base of the AP and the Experimental Plant, NGOs were created. In 1997, in memory of the major scientist and talented leader Nicolae Alekseyevich, Pilyugin, the company, which he founded and which was brought out of 36 years, was transformed into a scientific and production center of his name.
Since 2001, the company is called FSUE “Scientific and Production Center of Automation and Instrument-Majer named after Academician N.A. Pilyugina” (FSUE “NPCAP” is part of the state corporation “Roskosmos”). In 2003, the team of the Center received gratitude to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for a great contribution to the creation of SU rocket and space complexes.
among those who created today’s scientific and technical potential of the center – 10 heroes of socialist labor, 60 laureates of the Leninist and State Prizes, 14 academicians of the Russian and International Academies, 15 professors, 24 doctors of technical sciences, more than 700 orders. The NPCAP functions the museum, the exposition of which is represented by materials on the formation and development of the center, the main directions of its activities and the most important achievements in the creation of SU RTC.
