The US Ministry of Agriculture predicted that in 2021-2022 the agricultural year, the collection in Russia will collect 85 million tons of wheat – one of the best crops in history. This is stated in the May review of the department, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the May Review of the US Ministry of Agriculture, in the period from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022, switching wheat reserves will increase from 12.082 million tons to 15.082 million tons. This assessment has not changed compared with the April review of the department. According to the calculations of the agency’s analysts, global production in the future agricultural season can reach 788.978 million tons – against 776.097 million in the current one. This assessment is practically no different from April – then the forecast was 776.778 million tons.
According to Rosstat, the record crop of wheat in Russia was assembled in 2017, it amounted to 86.003 million tons. The second harvest in history in the country – 85.896 million tons – collected in 2020.
Earlier, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) reported that the export of wheat from Russia in January-February increased sharply three times (up to 7.6 million tons) compared to the same period last year. In monetary terms, the indicator increased 3.4 times (up to 1.8 billion dollars). In February, the supply of wheat abroad jumped 46.1 percent compared with January, sales brought 1.1 billion dollars.
