Lavrov pointed out danger of use of force and sanctions bypassing UN

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov pointed out the danger of applying one-sided sanctions and force action bypassing the UN. This is reported by TASS.

“Serious risks we see and in the context of other illegitimate actions, which are commissioned by the UN. I mean, of course, first of all, the use of force without the presence of sanctions of the Security Council, one-sided economic sanctions,” the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry said During the press conference with UN Secretary-General Anthony Guterres. He stressed that such actions “only hardened the situation in a dead end.”

At the same time, Lavrov stressed that Moscow fully supports the impartial, equidistant approach of Guterres to the parties to conflicts and intends to assist this. “We were united that in our common interests to ensure the effectiveness and impartiality of the UN structures,” the Minister added.

Earlier, Sergey Lavrov was outraged by the developed West “behind the back of the world community by the rules. “We consider it unacceptable and dangerous when some rules are developed behind most of the world community, which are then imposed on the rest as universal norms,” he said during a press conference with the UN Secretary General.
