Sweden rejected appeal of Czech Republic to send “at least one Russian diplomat”

Sweden rejected the request of the Czech Republic as a sign of solidarity to send “at least one Russian diplomat.” This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Anne Linde, her words reported TASS with reference to the Swedish radio.

“This is an extreme measure, and you can exercise solidarity in other ways, for example, offering specific support in the field,” the head of the foreign policy department said. Linde also added that the same opinions are held by other heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Europe, and emphasized the importance of making diplomatic dialogue.

May 8, the Czech Prime Minister Andrei Babish asked the EU countries to send “at least one Russian diplomat” due to explosions in Vrbetice. Such a call was argued by the fact that the blow to one of the association countries affects the entire European Union.

The relationship of Moscow and Prague aggravated after the Czech Republic accused Russian special services in involvement in the explosions in the warehouse of ammunition in Vrbetice on October 16, 2014, as a result of which two people were killed. Then, presumably, ten thousand kilograms of ammunition are restored, including medium-range missiles. According to the version of Prague, a day before the explosion of the warehouse in it was Russians Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Bolschirov, whom Great Britain had previously accused of trying to poison the former Agent Gro Sergei Skripal.
