The population of China during the pandemic in 2020 increased by 0.83 percent year in annual terms and amounted to 1.41178 billion people. This is reported by the State Statistical Office of the PRC, writes TASS.
It is 72.06 million (5.38 percent) more compared with 2010. Such data were provided after the seventh population census conducted in the PRC.
For the first time, China’s population census was held in 1953, then there were 600 million inhabitants in the country.
In July, a group of international scientists predicted the growth of the population in the world. According to calculations, the peak will have to 2064 and will decrease to 8.8 billion by 2100. According to the forecast, India, Nigeria, China, USA and Pakistan will be the first five countries with the highest population of the population to the beginning of the XXII century, while China’s population will decrease by 48 percent.
