at the Memorial complex of the GKNPTS named after M.V. Khrunichev (a member of the state corporation “Roscosmos”) was held a memorable rally, dedicated to the Victory Day, at which the memory of the factory-defenders fell in the battles of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The event was attended by management, the team of the center of Khrunichev, veterans of the enterprise, the students of the Cadet classes of the Proton educational center, relatives of the Warm participants.
General Director of the GKNPTS named after M.V. Khrunichev Alexey Vaughterko in his speech noted an unparalleled feat of the Soviet people in the struggle for the freedom of the Motherland, as well as the principled importance of preserving historical memory of the Great Patriotic War.
Members of the rally with the upcoming holiday also congratulated representatives of the Council of Veterans, the Council of Youth, relatives of veterans of the Second World War. Pupils of the cadet class of the sub-school GKNPTS named after M.V. Khrunichev educational center “Proton” read poems and executed a song about war.
The rally ended a minute of silence and the ceremony of laying flowers to a stele, on which the names of the dead factory workers are perpetuated. Every year in the days of military glory, employees of the enterprise, representatives of the city council of the district, students of nearby schools spend commemorative events at this place.
With the beginning of the Great Patriotic War on the front, 2,500 workers of the Aviation Plant No. 22 left, later than the number 23 (now – the GKNPC Rocket and Space Plant). Most fought in the divisions of the national militia, defending Moscow, participating in major battles and exemptions. Eleven factory workers were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. About a thousand employees have not returned from the front.
Light contributions to the victory were made by the workers of the Philoevsky rear. Employees of the Aviation Plant provided the front with new combat aircraft PE-2, IL-4, Tu-2, again put on the wing of high-speed and heavy bombers.
