Italian Prime Minister Mario Dragi criticized European politicians due to the strengthening of social inequality in the European Union (EU) and announced the collapse of the “dream of the European Union”. It is reported by Ansa.
According to him, the European Dream is to make it so that “no one left behind.” “Even before the pandemic, our society and labor markets were fragmented, if we talk about inequality among generations, floors and regions. This is not that Italy, what it should be, and not the Europe,” said Dragi.
He also noted the injustice of the system of “double markets”, which threatens the position of unprotected segments of the population – youth and women. According to Dragi, social policy problems are largely hampered by the EU development.
Earlier, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) called the estimated deadlines for the economic economy to do a pre-crisis level. The updated IMF forecast provides for the growth of the European economy by 4.5 percent following the results of 2021, which is 0.2 percentage points below the previous version. The deterioration of the forecast is associated with the new restrictions that are introducing the authorities at once several European countries to combat the proliferation of coronavirus.
