Record in the metric book on the baptism of the Soviet Marshal Konstantin Rokossovsky in the village of Telekhans in the now Ivatsevsky district of the Brest region Belarus does not prove that he was born exactly there. This was stated by the Polish researcher at the biography of the war commander Olga Dobjansk, criticized the conclusions of Belarusian specialists, reports RIA Novosti.
It is known that Rokossovsky at different times pointed out different places and different dates of his birth, which is why the secret of his origin has not been able to reveal for a long time. In his candidate card from 1920, he pointed out the Birthplace of the Warsaw, and after a while, the great bows.
However, the record was recently found in the Belarusian archive that Rokossovsky was baptized in the Belarusian village of Telechan, which was then part of the Minsk province of the Russian Empire, after became the territory of Poland, and since 1939 – the BSSR.
The document states that Boy Konstantin was born on September 3, 1889 (according to the old style) in the Family of the Nobleman, Catholic Ksavier Rokossovsky and his wife, Orthodox believing Antonina, and was baptized in the Holy Trinity Church Tejan. However, according to the Dobjansk, the real place of the birth of Rokossovsky will remain unknown, because the place of birth and the place of baptism may differ.
According to the rules of the Russian Empire, the child was supposed to be baptized in Orthodoxy, despite the fact that his father was Catholic. The sister of Rokossovsky Helena was also baptized in Orthodoxy, but adhered to Catholic faith. This is evidenced by the fact that the Catholic cross is installed in Warsaw on her grave.
