Roskosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin called the possible date of falling on the land of the Chinese heavy launch vehicle Long March 5B, which came out from under control after the launch. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
So, the corporation experts believe that the 18-ton step of the Chinese rocket, which on April 29 brought into orbit the base block of the future Chinese modular space station, can get away from the orbit and fall to Earth on Saturday, May 8.
As follows from the card published by Rogozin in his twitter account, it will not fall into the territory of Russia.
Previously, the representative of Pentagon Mike Howard said that the rocket, according to preliminary data, will enter the atmosphere of about 8 May. At the same time, he clarified that it would be possible to determine the place of its fall only a few hours before that – while it is impossible because of the high speed of the object.
