Middle income from Lithuanians “Much more” than the Russians. This was stated by the Lithuanian Ambassador to Moscow Avdas Bayarunas on the radio “Echo Moscow”.
According to him, of course, “not all 100 percent of citizens live well”, but from the moment of joining the European Union in 2004, the indicators of Lithuania on the gross product per capita only grow. As a result, now “Middle Earnings of Lithuanians is more than 1,000 euros per soul,” the diplomat noted.
Bayarunas also stated that there are many propaganda statements about infringement and oppression of Russians in Lithuania, including in the field of tourism. “When they say that the Russians are bad in Lithuania – well, the Russian tourists would not go to Lithuania! They would not choose Lithuania as one of the tourist destinations, if there was bad, and no one would speak Russian,” explained is he. The ambassador added that tourism from Russia for the country has always remained in the second-third place.
On April 29, Rosstat published data on the real disposable income of Russians following the first quarter of 2021. Compared to the same period last year, they fell 3.6 percent, and compared with the fourth quarter of 2020 – by 26.7 percent.
Earlier, the agency reported that the level of poverty in Russia in 2020 decreased to 12.1 percent, which became the minimum indicator since 2014.
