On the launch of the next batch of spacecraft of the ONEWeb satellite company are prepared on the Baikonur cosmodrome. In accordance with the comprehensive schedule of training by the joint calculation of the South Space Center specialists (a branch of the Center for the Objects of Ground Space Infrastructure) and the RCCC RCC RCC Center (Roscosmos State Corporation) completed the mechanical assembly cycle of the Package (1 and 2 steps) Soyuz-2.1b carrier missiles.
Assembly was carried out at the technical complex of the center of tests of technical complexes of the South Center “South”, in the installation and test case of the site No. 31. Currently, the carrier rocket is in storage mode.
Start of this Soyuz-2.1b media missile with an overclocking unit “Frigate” and 34 ONEWEB spacecraft is scheduled for the summer of this year from the starting complex “East” platform number 31 of the Baikonur cosmodrome.
To date, the grouping of OneWeb satellites at a low near-earth orbit has 182 spacecraft, it is planned to launch hundreds of others. Low-bidded ONEB spacecraft are designed to provide land consumers with high-speed Internet directly through satellite communications. The orbital group will consist of 18 planes of 36 devices in each.
