US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken declared an increase in aggression in China’s foreign policy. He told about it in an interview with CBS News TV channel.
“Over the past few years, we could observe the fact that China began to lead more repressive policies within the country, and its foreign policy has become more aggressive. This is a fact,” said the head of American diplomacy.
Blinken noted that Washington considers China to be China, “which has a military, economic and diplomatic potential to challenge the order that the United States is actively supported and protected.” At the same time, he indicated that military confrontation contradicts the interests of both China and the United States. The Secretary of State pointed out that the United States does not plan to restrain China, but only count “maintain the established order”
Earlier in the same interview, Blinken spoke about “forced” relations with China. Responding to a question about the possibility of holding “red lines” in relations with Beijing, he noted that in any case, Washington will have to deal with the PRC. He stressed that the United States is not in that position not to interact with China. “In this relationship there are serious difficulties, be it a confrontational world, a competing world or peace based on cooperation,” the American diplomat summarized.
April 30 reported that the Pentagon considers the rules of international order and the economy by the main spheres of the opposition of the United States and China. At the same time, the first deputy defense depositor Kathleen Hicks refused to call the inevitable conflict with Beijing in a military dimension. Hicks noted that the parties should avoid unnecessary military tensions, since it contradicts the national interests of the two countries.
