Belarus: second time in history was pardoned by death penalty

Two people sentenced to death penalty were pardoned in Belarus. According to the human rights center “Spring”, this is the second such case in the country’s history, writes Tut.BY.

Brothers Ilya and Stanislav Kosteva were sentenced to shooting for killing their neighbor-teacher. On April 30, their relatives reported in the SIZO, which the presidential administration came on pardon paper, and the killers were translated into quarantine for staging to prison.

21-year-old Ilya and 19-year-old Stanislav Kostev killed 47-year-old Natalia Kostritsa in April 2019. The reason was the fact that the teacher-defectologist told the social services that the largest sister of the bones does not fulfill the parental responsibilities.

the brothers were angry and after one of the pops went to the neighbor to understand. They beat Natalia hands and legs, caused a few blows with a knife, stole a computer and products, and then set fire to the house. The verdict was taken out in January 2020. Petition about the pardon of murderers wrote to the President of Alexander Lukashenko their sister.

Belarus remains the only one in Europe and the CIS state where the death penalty is applied. Since 1990, more than 400 people were shot.
