Czech Republic Foreign Minister Yakub Kulgank said that Prague is interested in improving relations with Russia, but the escalation of the conflict between the countries was inevitable. He told about it in an interview with the PRAVDA Czech newspaper.
“I am not at all suitable for the current situation in Russian-Czech relations. I as a foreign minister is interested in improving relations with our foreign partners, including Russia,” the minister said.
Kulganek also noted that the actions of the Czech Republic in the direction of Moscow were necessary and inevitable, since for Prague it was “It is important to give a clear signal of Russia that it is unacceptable to commit actions like what was in vrbetics.”
he added that he did not expect any serious shifts in relations between countries and in the coming months hopes only to resolve technical moments, such as the work of embassies.
Earlier, the Czech Republic accused Russian special services in involvement in the explosions in the warehouse of ammunition in Vrbetice in 2014 and announced the expulsion of 18 Russian diplomats. Russia, in turn, announced 20 employees of the Embassy of the Czech Republic with people Non Grata.
