The US Department of Justice begins a large-scale investigation into the Police Activities in Louisville, Kentucky, in connection with the death of Breunny Taylor in March 2020. According to Garland, special attention will be paid to whether the police department practices the unreasonable use of force, including in relation to people participating in peaceful activities. It will also be studied, whether police are negotiating searches and seizures.
The Prosecutor General noted that during the investigation, among other things, it is planned to check the training that officers are held, and the current system of attracting officers to justice, as well as to evaluate whether the police department in the “discriminatory behavior on the basis of race” participates.
26-year-old Ambulance officer Breutna Taylor was killed by police officers: they shot the girl eight times after penetrating her to her house in Louisville.
