At one of the stands of the scientific and test complex of the Energomash Scientific and Production Association named after Academician V.P. Glushko (part of the state corporation “Roscosmos”) completed work on the creation of a new liquid oxygen supply system. It is designed to conduct fire tests of model installations and units of liquid rocket engines on the components of “liquid oxygen – kerosene” and has no analogues in Russia.
The principle of operation of the system consists in the displacement of liquid oxygen from the balloon installation by supplying gaseous nitrogen to it with the required pressure. Next, automation aggregates open in manual or automatic mode, and oxygen over the stand pipelines is supplied to the tested unit. In the aggregate itself there is a mixing of the components of “oxygen – kerosene” and their inflammation by the chemical method.
The design of the construction part of the system has been conducted since the end of 2019. Installation work ended at the end of last year. Design, installation, as well as the assembly and debugging of the system, the design and test units were engaged in the participation of the staff of the NGO “Tekranenergo”. The elements of the strapping of the system were manufactured in a mechanical assembly workshop.
To date, seven fire tests of mixing heads. In addition, in the near future, with the help of this system, it is planned to carry out fire tests of the model installation, as well as the boost unit for the engine RD-191m.
