60 oak seedlings are planted on the territory of the star town (Moscow region) on the initiative of the public organization “Star Town Veterans”, which is headed by the hero of Russia, the cosmonaut’s pilot-cosmonaut Valery Korzun. The action confined to the 60th anniversary of the flight of Yuri Gagarin, supported employees of the Center for the Training of Cosmonauts named after Yu.A. Gagarin, representatives of the Kosmonauts of Roscosmos and the Star Town Administration, Children and Youth. Rainy weather did not become an obstacle to the event.
Tradition to plant trees is very important for people whose fate is closely connected with space. It is observed, noting important events and dates. Each cosmonaut, preparing for the first flight, places a nominal tree on Baikonur a few days before the start. Shares on landscaping were carried out at the CPK and regularly resemble on the territory of the star town.
The veteran organization is not only a permanent participant of such events, but also is often their initiator. So, for example, it was in 2017, when a fruit garden was laid near the Temple of the Transfiguration of the Lord in the Star Town. The older generation people show a worthy example for children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who proudly support their endeavors.
