Scottish archaeologists have discovered the fingerprint of about five thousand years in the Orkney Islands. This is reported by “BBC.”
Scientists examined the archaeological parking lot on Brodgar’s Cape in the Orcane Islands. The imprint stayed on the shard of the ancient clay dishes.
In order to make sure that this is a fingerprint, several photos of the object from different angles were made by scientists. After that, a specialized program based on snapshots created a detailed model of an object, which can be covered from all sides and carefully viewed on the screen.
Archaeologists hope that the fingerprint analysis data in the future will determine the gear and the age of the potter.
