Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak expressed confidence in the completion of the North Stream-2 gas pipeline, RIA Novosti reports.
“work continues, and we are sure that it will be completed,” said Novak on the air TV channel “Russia 1”.
Earlier, the official said that the gas pipeline, according to the information of the NORD Stream 2 AG project operator, will be completed in 2021.
“North Stream-2” involves the construction of two gas pipeline threads with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The United States is actively advocated against the project, promoting its liquefied natural gas to the European Union. In December 2019, Washington introduced sanctions against the “Northern Flow-2”, as a result of which the Swiss Allseas was forced to suspend the gasket.
According to Nord Stream 2 AG, the gas pipeline is built by 95 percent, it remains to lay 121 kilometers from the total length of two threads.
