Rome considers the expulsion of his diplomat from Russia unequibly and unfair. This is stated in a statement on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy.
“We are deeply disappointed by the decision of the Russian Federation to send the deputy military attache at the embassy in Moscow with a warning in 24 hours,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted. The agency also added that the decision of Moscow is unreasonable, since it is a response to the “legitimate measure, adopted by the Italian authorities in the interests of protecting its own security.”
Assistant attache on defense issues in the Italian embassy in Moscow Kursio PachiFichi was ordered to leave the territory of Russia during the day. The expulsion of the Italian diplomat became the answer to “unfriendly and unnecessary actions of the Italian authorities in relation to military attachment at the Russian Embassy in Rome,” said Russian Foreign Ministry.
March 31, Italy sent two employees of Russian diplomices. Local authorities argue that the Navy officer and the Russian Embassy officer in Rome were detained on espionage charges. On March 30, the captain of the Italian fleet allegedly conveyed to Russian military secret documents in exchange for five thousand euros.
