Liquidators of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant (Chernobyl) made a feat, working in the exhausting conditions and without sparing their health to eliminate its consequences. About this in a conversation with RIA Novosti, the chairman of the Committee of Veterans-Chernobyl Mobils, Military Radiologist Vladimir Kamenkov, was told.
According to him, the military often worked at the facility from 7:00 to 23:00, especially those who were in operational groups. “There were cases when at night they were called to work. The work is such that you come with shifts, clothes changed, the sanitary processing passed, fall and fall asleep, the fatigue was huge,” said Kamenkov.
He added that in the sector, which was originally intended for the work of the Belarusian Military District, part of the Ural, Moscow, Baltic, North-Caucasian and Central Asian districts arrived.
