Government could not call date of completion of “Northern Flow-2”

Governments of Russia Alexander Novak stated that the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline is completed in 2021, but could not call at least approximate dates, reports TASS.

He forwarded the question of specific terms to the Nord Stream 2 AG project operator, refusing to confirm that the route can finish this summer.

Last week, the head of the State Duma Committee on Energy Pavel Zavalny told the deputies of the Bundestag that the work on the “Northern Flow-2” will be completed until autumn, and then gas can be supplied.

In early April, Nord Stream 2 AG argued that the gas pipeline is ready for 95 percent. Works in Danish waters resumed in early February 2021, they are barge “Fortune” and the pipe-layer “Academician Khsky”.

The main obstacle to the completion of the project remains the position of the United States, which intend to prevent gas supply to gas supply. In 2019, the Swiss contractor Allseas refused, under the threat of punishment from the work, whose vessels put the pipes. Later from cooperation, at least 18 firms refused, including those who had to insure and certify the gas pipeline.
