Scientists declared most effective methods of Flirt

American scientists from Baknell University, together with its Canadian colleague, from the University of St. Mary found out that women use different ways of flirting to attract a partner and scaring opponents. The study showed that in the presence of competition to achieve the location of the partner, it is better to use such technicians as touching the chosen one, the establishment of visual contact with it, hugs and giggle over jokes. This is reported in the journal Personality and Individual Differences.

The effectiveness of techniques scientists was assessed using a group of volunteers. 91 heterosexual women aged from 18 to 58 were invited to participate. They were asked to introduce the following situation: “At the party you see a cute man at the other end of the room. He speaks with another woman. How, not using words, convince him to switch to you and give to understand the opponent that she is superfluous?”

From the answers received, the authors of the work amounted to a list of the most popular maneuvers. There included: eye contact, eye-level dancing, smile, touch, giggle over jokes, giggling and gloomy look at rival.

For the second part of the experiment, scientists invited 89 women and 50 men aged 18 to 93 years. Participants needed to carefully familiarize themselves with the answers of the first research group and evaluate them on a seven-bull scale. At the same time, respondents were to take into account how successful each of the ways of Flirt could make a rival retreat, and the man is interested.

Reception, which participants appreciated as the most efficient, is a touch of hands, chest and shoulders. Such signals scholars are called “communication signals”. These include non-verbal and verbal signs that publicly demonstrate the proximity between two people. With their help, a woman makes it possible to understand the rollers that the man is already busy.
