Over the past year in Russia, the number of violations associated with pricing has become more than twice. This at a meeting of the Federation Council was reported to the General Prosecutor Igor Krasnov, RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, the struggle of the departments with increasing prices led to the fact that 2,295 violations were revealed, although in 2019 there were only 1,129 cases. The head of the department stressed that the prosecutors managed to achieve a decline in food prices in many regions of the country or at least warn their unreasonable growth.
Previously, the Consulting network Finexpertiza found out that the price of socially significant foods in Russia in March was 15.6 percent higher than a year ago. Thus, inflation on them exceeded the average official by 2.7 times.
Analysts noted that the rupture begins to increase. In January and February, in annual terms, the products from the Government list were 13.5 and 15.35 percent more expensive than a year ago.
In the course of the Epistle of the Federal Assembly on April 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin called on to prevent the situation when state regulation of prices led to empty shelves as in the 1980s and early 1990s. According to him, it should not be abandoned by the market mechanisms for regulating the cost of food to ensure price predictability.
