Putin spoke on online climate summit

Russian President Vladimir Putin called on all countries to unite in the framework of joint international projects to combat climate change. He stated this during the speech on the climate online summit on Thursday, April 22, reports Reuters.

The Russian leader also noted that Moscow will consider preferences for foreign companies, ready to work in an environmentally friendly environment.

Putin also said that the basis in the fight against greenhouse gas emissions remains an agreement on the UN. “We believe that universal agreements achieved under the United Nations line are used by the reliable legal basis for the collaboration of states to control and reduce the emission of greenhouse gases,” he stressed.

earlier in the Kremlin reported that Putin decided to participate in the online climate summit, because he considers this topic priority for Russia. For the event, he was invited by US President Joe Biden.

In total, 40 world leaders take part in the summit, including the Chairman of the PRC Si Jinping. The event is devoted to the subject of consolidation efforts to reduce harmful emissions into the environment.
