The European Union offered Russia to talk about disarmament and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. This was stated by the representative of the Foreign Policy of the EU, Peter Stano, reports TASS.
Diplomat commented on the words of the Russian president Vladimir Putin that Moscow invites foreign partners to discuss the agenda of global security and stability. Stano stated that Brussels tries to encourage multilateral disarmament processes.
“We are dialogues on non-proliferation and disarmament with a dozen states and offered the Russian side to revive our bilateral dialogues on these issues,” he said. She added that the European Party supported negotiations on strategic stability between Russia and the United States and considers them an important condition for further cooperation of the countries.
On April 21, Putin appealed to the Federal Assembly. He stated that Moscow strongly proposes to foreign partners to discuss the creation of a conflict-free environment and develop a “security equation”. The head of state stressed that Russia is always open to interstate dialogue.
April 6 reported that Russia and the United States revealed data on the number of rockets and nuclear warheads for the first time after the extension of the Treaty on measures to further reduce and restrict strategic offensive arms (DSNV, an unofficial name – STB-3). Moscow and Washington exchanged notes about the extension of the agreement on February 3. The rocket contract will act as signed, until February 5, 2026.
