State Duma assessed new rules for payments for children

The State Duma assessed the intentions of the Ministry of Labor to introduce new rules and update the criteria for assigning payments to children from three to seven years old. RIA Novosti reports.

As the head of the State Duma committee on labor, social policy and affairs of veterans Yaroslav Nilov said, when updating the approach, “such conditions should not be created so that those who really need, due to the fact that some additional requirements have been introduced, dropped out of this list of need not for objective reasons, but for formal reasons. ” “It’s the right thing to do better targeting,” he said.

Earlier on Friday, March 12, the Ministry of Labor announced the conditions for Russians to receive payments for children. So, when assigning benefits to low-income families with children aged three to seven, real estate, cars and bank deposits will be taken into account. It was also reported that families who have recently bought a new car or own three cars at the same time will not receive “children’s” money.

Monthly benefits for children from 3 to 7 years old were introduced by presidential decree from January 1, 2020. Payments started on June 1st. They are received by low-income families. The payments can be 50, 75 or 100 percent of the minimum subsistence level.
