The head of the French nationalist party “National Association” Marine Le Pen said that she regularly pays out a loan for the activities of her movement, taken in Russia. This is reported by TASS with reference to French television.
“We are already making such payments. We do this every month and do not experience any difficulties with this, because we have made the necessary efforts to adapt the format of the party to its financial situation,” the politician replied to the question about the debt to the Russian bank .
She said that the party’s headquarters had moved to a building whose rent costs less than the previous one. In addition, voters are actively helping to finance the party. Le Pen explained that her supporters understand the situation – the nationalist party does not want to give loans in Western banks – and therefore do not see anything reprehensible in cooperation with Russian banks.
In 2014, Le Pen took a loan of 9 million euros for her campaign from the First Czech-Russian Bank LLC. This did not damage its popularity: the party managed to strengthen its positions in the elections. In the elections to the European Parliament, she bypassed the rest of the political forces and won 24 of the 74 seats allocated to France.
