The chief physician of the Moscow hospital №71 and TV presenter Alexander Myasnikov described the situation with the coronavirus in European countries as “obscurantism.” He told about this on the air of the TV channel “Russia 24”, RIA Novosti reports.
He said that because of the quarantine, “let’s say, in Paris, where it’s just like after an atomic war, a neutron bomb, it’s impossible to watch.” The doctor noted that a stricter quarantine was introduced in Europe than in Russia last year. At the same time, Russia is coping with the pandemic much better than in other countries, this is, among other things, indicated by the lower mortality among the infected.
Myasnikov explained that Russian medicine operates according to the proven “good old algorithm of military medicine”.
On March 9, Myasnikov advised even those people who have already suffered a coronavirus to be vaccinated, saying that in this case the vaccine would not bring any harm. Answering the question whether the vaccination is necessary for those who have recovered from the current situation in Russia, the specialist noted that he can only give a “cautious answer” – vaccination is optional. He clarified that not all people know whether they have been ill and whether they have antibodies. At the same time, the doctor added that all new COVID-19 mutations are replacing the previous ones, and there is no confidence in the ability of antibodies to protect against other types of the virus, unlike the vaccine.
