The White House declined to name who was responsible for the cyberattack on Microsoft’s software. This was announced by Assistant to the President of the United States for National Security Jake Sullivan, RIA Novosti reports.
“I am not in a position to pinpoint who is in charge today. But I do promise that we will be able to identify who is responsible for this attack in the near future,” he said. According to him, the American authorities will directly indicate who, in their opinion, carried out this cyberattack.
Earlier it was reported that the administration of US President Joe Biden is exploring options for responding to hacking of networks of companies and enterprises through Microsoft’s Exchange Server software. It was noted that the corporation is in contact with the administration and government departments on the issue of ensuring the security of companies that could potentially suffer from the actions of hackers.
Microsoft has released an update to Exchange Server that fixes a vulnerability exploited by hackers. However, according to experts in cybersecurity, in this case, it is necessary to conduct a full analysis of all systems and programs that were involved in the hacking. Experts are confident that if a company uses Microsoft Exchange, it is highly likely that their systems have been hacked.
