Distributing money to Russians just like in the United States is impossible due to the budget deficit. Oleg Shibanov, director of the Skolkovo-NES financial center, gave this explanation on the air of the Moscow Talking radio station.
“We have much less money, we have large budget deficits this year. On the other hand, the recovery of the Russian economy will be quite active,” he commented.
At the same time, Shibanov pointed out that the growth of the American economy risks significantly slowing down due to new lockdowns.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden signed a law on measures to support the economy worth $ 1.9 trillion. According to the plan, 85 percent of American households will receive direct payments of $ 1.4 thousand per person.
Commenting on these direct payments, Aghvan Mikaelyan, member of the board of directors of the international audit and consulting network FinExpertiza, suggested that the effect from them would be short-lived. “Most of this money will go to support families and consumption, and less will go to the fight against covid, which is a top priority for the United States today,” he told RIA Novosti.
However, the plan to rescue the American economy may face a problem. Among other things, it provides payments of 3.6 thousand dollars for each child under six years old and three thousand – for other minors. To receive this money, parents must earn less than $ 75,000 a year. In addition, children are required to live with them for at least six months. Verification of the last point can be delayed, and people will face delays in getting help due to the lack of Internet access for the homeless and low-income people.
