According to him, more than 30 thousand residents of the city have died from the coronavirus in a year. “Every morning, the first thing I see is the list and the number in it. The main thing is how many people we have lost, how many New Yorkers have left, how many neighbors, how many relatives,” de Blasio said.
The head of the city noted that more New Yorkers died from COVID-19 than in World War II, Vietnam, from Hurricane Sandy and the September 11 attacks combined. “One way or another, every family was affected,” he pointed out.
