Another category of Russians can receive a social tax deduction for personal income tax. The State Duma decided to provide such an opportunity for underage citizens who lead an active lifestyle, writes “Parlamentskaya Gazeta”.
The State Duma has prepared an amendment to the second reading of the bill, according to which the deduction will be able to receive not only the taxpayer himself, but also his minor children, if they go to fitness or sections. This will apply to adoptees and wards.
Valeriy Skrug, a member of the committee of the lower house of parliament on budget and taxes, explained that this initiative is aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle. He noted that it is necessary to interest as many people as possible in sports and fitness, to make health and fitness services as accessible as possible, including for young families.
According to the bill, the “wellness” tax deduction will be allocated in the amount of actual expenses incurred. Moreover, its size cannot exceed 120 thousand rubles for the tax period, taking into account other social deductions for personal income tax.
The maximum amount can be 15.6 thousand rubles. The Ministry of Sports will develop a list of organizations that can be deducted when receiving services.
Earlier it was reported that it would be easier for Russians to receive property and investment tax deductions. The Federal Tax Service (FTS) is testing the technology, which will be launched in March 2021. The Federal Tax Service is going to combine the “Taxpayer’s Personal Account” with the data of online cash registers.
