In Yekaterinburg, two similar friends hacked Face ID on an iPad and demanded compensation from Apple for a million dollars. This amount was promised by the head of Apple’s engineering security Ivan Krstic to anyone who finds a vulnerability in the company’s device. Telegram-channel Mash writes about how two Russians are seeking compensation.
According to Daniel, he took the tablet from Nikita and wanted to ask him for a passcode, when suddenly the device was unlocked using Face ID. Friends decided to contact the support service and demand compensation, but there they were told that there were practically no such cases and were advised to simply reset Face ID and reinstall it. They were not offered to pay compensation, but Daniil and Nikita intend to seek the amount announced by Krstic.
