Slovakia: 38-year-old teacher dies after vaccination with AstraZeneca vaccine

In Slovakia, a high school teacher died after being vaccinated against coronavirus with a drug from AstraZeneca. Reported by RTVS.

According to the TV channel, after the first vaccination, a 38-year-old woman showed side effects of the vaccine – high fever, migraine and pain in the joints and the injection site. A week later she was hospitalized in serious condition, and a few days later she died.

Native women believe that the vaccine caused the death of a person. However, authorities say there is no direct link between vaccinations and death.

At the moment, nine European countries have stopped or temporarily limited vaccination with AstraZeneca due to thrombosis in their patients. Austria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Luxembourg have stopped using the drug from a specific batch of one million doses, which was supplied to 17 European countries. At the same time, Denmark, Iceland and Norway have stopped all their supplies of this vaccine.

The drug from AstraZeneca is used in Slovakia to vaccinate doctors and teachers. The country also bought the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, which caused a scandal in the Slovak government, and the Minister of Health was dismissed. Prior to this, the Prime Minister of Slovakia responded to calls to abandon the Russian vaccine. The politician said he would not return the drug back. Matovic stressed that after the purchase of the drug, a lot of criticism fell on him, but when Moscow offered to return the batch of the drug without further sanctions, the critics fell silent. He also added that he would not refuse to save his own people with the help of a high-quality vaccine just because it was produced in Russia.
