Men are half as likely to support the idea of introducing a four-day work week for women than women themselves (17 and 35 percent, respectively). Such data is disclosed in the Superjob survey.
Every third man believes that if you introduce a four-day period, then for everyone. About 25 percent of women also share this opinion. Most of those who support equality are among young people under 24 (39 percent). At the same time, about 24 percent of respondents believe that no one needs a shorter working week. Opponents of the four-day stay are most of all among Russians with an income of 80 thousand rubles (every third).
Earlier, the Ombudsman of Moscow Tatyana Potyaeva proposed to introduce a four-day working week for women. She explained her initiative by the fact that women have a heavy load. A shorter working week will lead to an aggravation of gender inequality in Russian society, warned Natalya Emelina, senior researcher at the HSE Labor Market Research Laboratory.
She stressed that the reduction in working hours will inevitably affect the reduction in wages, which could cause the difference in salaries of female and male employees to reach 40 percent.
