The Ministry of Labor has named the conditions for Russians to receive payments for children. So, when assigning benefits to low-income families with children aged three to seven, real estate, cars and bank deposits will be taken into account. This is stated in the message of the press service of the ministry, published by “VKontakte”.
Families with a car, motorcycle, tractor and small boat will also fall under the category of low-income families that can count on child benefits. Now, according to the new rules, families who have an apartment (no more than 24 square meters per person), a residential building (no more than 40 square meters per person), a summer house and a garage can count on payments.
Earlier on Friday, March 12, the Kommersant newspaper reported that Russia wanted to stop paying child benefits to suspiciously poor families: those who officially earn little, but in fact own significant property. On the other hand, families who recently bought a jeep or own three cars at the same time will not receive “children’s” money.
So, the newspaper pointed out, the authorities want to make it more targeted and more effective. At the same time, they want to increase the size of “children’s” payments by 75-100 percent of the subsistence minimum, if the basic amount of payments does not allow the family to cross the poverty line.
As for the size of payments, they are spelled out in the new decree: the amount can be 50.75 or 100 percent of the subsistence minimum.
