Kadyrov’s critic reveals details of his brother’s assassination attempt

The Chechen blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov, criticizing the policy of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has revealed the details of an attempt on the life of his brother Mokhmad Abdurakhmanov, which was being prepared in Germany. According to him, Chechen Tamerlan Aurbiev, who refused to kill, is being held in this case as a witness, “Caucasian Knot” reports.

The blogger said that Aurbiev was taken under the protection of German law enforcement officers, and his family was evacuated from Chechnya. In the case of the attempted murder, only one person has been arrested at the moment, whom the witness called an intermediary between him and the organizers of the crime.

“The murder should have been committed by Tamerlane himself. [The mediator] was not supposed to be with him at the time of the murder. They, in fact, wanted to use Aurbiev as a consumable – there was not even a plan to evacuate him,” Abdurakhmanov said. He also noted that the killer was ordered not only to kill his brother, but to mock his body. “Tamerlane was told after he shot Mohmad to stick a knife in his ass,” he said.

In February 2020, an attack was made on Tumso Abdurakhmanov himself. It was reported that the offender introduced himself as a police officer and made his way into the apartment where the blogger lives. He tried to kill the sleeping Abdurakhmanov with a hammer, the victim was hospitalized. According to the blogger’s brother, before the assassination attempt, Abdurakhmanov received threats.

Later, in January 2021, Abdurakhmanov called Kadyrov guilty of the incident and drew attention to the fact that the preliminary investigation had already established a connection between the attack on him and Chechnya. The blogger stressed that he was not surprised by the desire to eliminate him. “Blood feud was officially announced to me in March 2019 by a government official, the second person in the region, to the chairmen of the parliament of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation (Magomed Daudov – Lenta.ru),” he concluded.

In Chechnya, they said that the attack on Abdurakhmanov looks like a comedy, and pointed to inaccuracies in the “staging”. The head of the Chechnya Today agency, Chingiz Akhmadov, suggested that there will be several more parts of “this film”.

Tumso Abdurakhmanov was forced to leave Russia in 2015 due to a conflict with the nephew of the head of Chechnya, Islam Kadyrov. Abdurakhmanov stands for the independence of Chechnya and its separation from Russia. He and other supporters of Ichkeria who left the country were nicknamed Euroichkerians.
