A series of standards has been approved that regulate work with electronic technical documentation

As part of the implementation of the Roscosmos State Corporation’s Digital Transformation Strategy for the period until 2025 and the prospect until 2030, a set of corporate standards has been developed and approved that establish requirements for the development, acceptance, use and storage of originals of design documentation in electronic form. The transition to digital product lifecycle management will significantly improve the quality and reduce the time required to create rocket and space technology, and reduce operating costs.

“The introduction of these standards in the organizations of the Roskosmos State Corporation and the inclusion of references to them in the technical specifications will make it possible to fully transfer the design of promising rocket and space complexes into digital form, as well as ensure the creation of their digital twins. The implementation of this set of standards forms uniform requirements for product design not only for the organizations of the Roscosmos State Corporation, but also for our entire cooperation, which is more than a thousand organizations. This will create a solid foundation for digitalization of the entire industry, “said the Director of the Department of Certification, Standardization and licensing of the State Corporation “Roscosmos” Gennady Abramenkov.
“The approval of a series of standards that establish uniform requirements for the development of rocket and space technology in electronic form summed up the discussions that were held for a long time at various sites regarding the correct presentation of the electronic documentation being developed. Of course, today we have opened a new page in the development approaches of digital design. We expect that the documents will have a significant impact on the digitalization of enterprises of the rocket and space industry.

Standardization is a symbiosis of accumulated experience and scientific and technical knowledge gained in the process of work. Standards determine the unification of products, including within information systems Therefore, the adoption of these standards should serve as a basis for the use of uniform solutions and methods in the preparation of electronic technical documentation, “says Konstantin Shadrin, Director of the Digital Development Department of the State Corporation Roscosmos.

The basic principles laid down in the set of standards have been worked out and have shown their effectiveness in the digital development of the world’s most powerful liquid-propellant rocket engine – RD-171MV for the first stage of the promising Soyuz-5 launch vehicle and the Yenisei super-heavy rocket “.
