Bank of Russia Governor Elvira Nabiullina was vaccinated against coronavirus. She spoke about this in an interview with Izvestia.
The head of the regulator admitted that she received the vaccine against COVID-19 back in December 2020. “It’s okay, so think about it too,” she advised.
Earlier, Nabiullina announced the plans of the regulator for 2021. So, this year, the Central Bank will maintain a soft monetary policy, which will be aimed at supporting the recovery of the Russian economy. According to her, the potential for cutting the key rate has been exhausted. Its further reduction may lead to an additional increase in pro-inflationary risks.
In February, Russian President Vladimir announced that he could be vaccinated against coronavirus in late summer or early autumn. According to the Russian leader, he intends to be vaccinated after consulting with doctors, since he has a vaccination plan. So, Putin explained that he was scheduled to be vaccinated against influenza and pneumococcus, and that it was impossible to be vaccinated at the same time. The head of state stressed that he would supply the Russian vaccine, as he considers it the best in the world in all respects.
Later, Russian President’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov spoke about Putin’s “excellent health”.
“The president, pah-pah, has excellent health, and just vaccinations are being made in order to maintain this excellent health. That’s all I can tell you,” he said.
