The American restaurant chain Panda Express conducted training on trust, during which it forced employees to undress. The company was sued, writes NBC News.
As stated in the lawsuit, such team building was “a prerequisite for promotion.” Former Panda Express employee Jennifer Spargifyore said she was forced to strip to her underwear in front of colleagues and strangers during a “confidence-building” exercise. The assignments were “weird and quickly turned into psychological abuse,” but this was her only chance for a promotion, Spargifyore notes.
Employees of the Alive Seminars company, who organized the trainings, openly observed women who undressed, smiled and laughed, the newspaper writes. “Over time, the seminar more and more resembled a ritual of initiation into a sect,” the lawsuit says.
After Spargifyore left training, she was fired from her position at Panda Express. The company said it was conducting its own investigation. “We strive to provide a safe environment for all employees and treat everyone with respect,” – noted in Panda Express.
Earlier it was reported that McDonald’s created a secret intelligence unit that collects information about employees who advocate raising the minimum wage to $ 15 per hour. The corporation considers such workers a threat to its safety and therefore has been spying on them for several years.
