The American job search service Upwork has published a report that talks about the benefits of remote work. Survey participants said that they became more productive and began to save more time. At the same time, the biggest disadvantage of switching to teleworking remains technical problems.
The majority (61 percent) of respondents admitted that their productivity has increased, another 68 percent believe that they have begun to work better than a year ago – before the coronavirus pandemic and the massive transition to telecommuting. In addition, on average, over the course of the year, people saved nine full days by not having to travel to the office. The respondents were happy that they did not need to spend time on travel and unnecessary meetings, and they also got rid of distractions in the office.
Earlier in March, the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) analytical company provided the results of a study from which it follows that against the background of the development of remote location, 59 percent of Russians surveyed expressed interest in working for a foreign company not represented in Russia, while remaining at home.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has added a new variable, forcing people to be more cautious about international relocation. And with the development of the remote format, many felt that they could develop their careers virtually without the need to relocate,” said Rainer Strack, senior partner at BCG. The readiness to move is now directly dependent on the epidemiological situation. The leaders of the new rating are the countries that are successfully coping with the spread of coronavirus: Canada, Australia and Japan.
