The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, reminded the member states of the need to comply with the five common European principles in relations with Russia. RIA Novosti reports.
Borrell noted that the states of the European Union (EU) should show unity on this issue. He stressed that lately Russia is increasingly moving away from Europe.
In 2016, the EU member states adopted five principles that guide them in building relations with Russia. These include full compliance with the Minsk agreements; strengthening EU relations with Eastern partners and strengthening the internal stability of the European Union; selective interaction with Moscow, taking into account common interests; support of Russian civil society and the development of contacts between the population of the EU and the Russian Federation.
