Russia demanded from United States to explain words of Biden about Putin

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova demanded that the United States explain the words of American leader Joe Biden about his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. The diplomat announced this on the air of the program “60 minutes” on the TV channel “Russia-1”.

Zakharova was asked if Washington could somehow refute Biden’s negative statements about Putin. The Foreign Ministry spokeswoman noted that such questions should be asked to the United States.

“Why do we always have to transcribe and translate into a normal language from their strange, politically avian language? (…) Let them try to explain what they themselves mean,” the diplomat said. She also recalled that, despite the violent reaction in Russia, the representatives of the United States “took water in their mouths” and did not comment on what was happening.

She also said that relations between Moscow and Washington are at an impasse.

On March 17, Biden said in an interview with ABC News that he wants to hold the Russian state accountable for alleged interference in the US elections. He spoke about a conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and added that he would “pay” if he was found guilty.
