Chinese specialists found out how the generosity of men is associated with the level of testosterone in the blood. The corresponding material was published on the website of the scientific journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).
For research, scientists invited 70 men aged 18 to 25 years and divided them into two groups. During the experiment, all volunteers were offered to take advantage of a special gel with a high content of testosterone. While people from the first group got a hormone remedy, the participants of the second group used placebo.
After some time, men were granted a certain amount of money. They were offered to distribute these funds between close people, buddies and themselves. So, almost all participants gave approximately half of the funds isolated to relatives. However, when it was necessary to make a choice of each other and buddies, men who took testosterone were more selfish: they left money to themselves, having giving anything familiar.
With the help of the MRI, specialists were able to record the differences in the tempororal transition of the brain, which is responsible for empathy in the participants of both groups. So, at the behavioral level, Testosterone caused a reduction in generosity of men, unlike placebo.
In October 2020, Tiktok customers who are accustomed to receive dear gifts from men, opened their success in the social network. One of them advised to tell the potential partner only positive facts from their biography, but to present them so that he was not bored.
