Kremlin reassured Russians over fuel prices

Kremlin spokesman and presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov reassured the Russians about a possible rise in fuel prices. He is quoted by TASS.

“The government keeps the situation with fuel prices under control,” Peskov said, adding that the existing mechanisms are in place and “will not allow dramatic changes in fuel prices.”

The same position is held by the Ministry of Energy, whose deputy head Pavel Sorokin assured that the department sees no prerequisites for repeating the situation in 2018, when a sharp jump in prices was observed on the Russian fuel market due to the growth of world quotations.
