Russia worried about NATO’s “hypothetical annexation of Kaliningrad”

In Warsaw, developing numerous scenarios of the war with Moscow for Kaliningrad, they pursue their own goals, writes “Zvezda”.

“In general, in Poland, they frankly add fuel to the fire in connection with one of the favorite NATO topics – the Kaliningrad region. True, in the alliance in connection with it, they mainly consider not so much the potential aggression of Russia as the hypothetical annexation of Kaliningrad,” – says the publication.

The publication, in particular, was concerned about “the vector of Polish rhetoric, which boils down to the fact that no matter how you equip the Baltic countries with weapons, they quickly retreat in the war with Russia.” “Consequently, it would be more priority for the United States to strengthen the military power of Poland,” Zvezda writes.

In January, Over Defense, using data from the American organization Center for Naval Analyzes (CNA), described a scenario for a preemptive NATO strike in the Kaliningrad region, involving the elimination of four main targets in the region. According to the publication, we are talking about the destruction of launchers of short-range ballistic missiles (BRMD) capable of carrying nuclear weapons (meaning primarily the Iskander missile systems), damage to ships and infrastructure of the Baltic Fleet, the destruction of anti-aircraft missile systems located in the region ( ZRS) S-400 “Triumph” and “the elimination of Russian troops in Kaliningrad to ensure security in the Baltic States and the Suwalki corridor”.
