In capital of Egypt collapsed a ten-story residential building

at least five people died and 23 were injured on Saturday, on March 27, with the collapse of a ten-story residential building in one of the districts of Cairo – the capital of Egypt. It is reported by the newspaper Al-Ahram.

According to the publication, the tragedy occurred at night in the area with the densely populated building of Guest-Es-Sayes. Currently, rescuers disassemble the ruins in search of survivors. In addition, there is an operation on the challenge of a whole family, which turned out to be soast.

According to preliminary data, the reason for the emergency could be the fact that the homeowner was illegally sustained at the building two floors. The local prosecutor’s office has already started checking on this fact.

May 7, 2007 In the suburbs of Cairo, a four-storey residential building was collapsed, located in the working quarter: three people died under the rubble.

The collapsion of buildings in the poor neighborhoods of Egyptian cities, as a rule, is due to violations of safety rules in the construction and lack of repair. There are no cases when tenants extend additional floors without coordination with municipal authorities.
